Acentra Health, formerly Kepro, serves as North Dakota’s Health and Human Services’ vendor. Requests for service authorization of certain CPT and ICD 10 Procedure codes must be submitted to Acentra Health through Acentra Health’s Atrezzo Online Provider Portal for review of medical necessity. A comprehensive list of codes that require authorization by Acentra Health can be found by clicking here and selecting “Codes Requiring Service Authorizations.”

Quarterly, Acentra Health conducts post-payment reviews of certain services provided to North Dakota traditional Medicaid recipients. The review ensures that reimbursed healthcare services were medically necessary and met coverage requirements.

To use Acentra Health’s Atrezzo Online Provider Portal, each facility, doctor’s office, and clinic should appoint one person to be the administrator, or owner, of the Online Provider Portal account. The account administrator is typically a supervisor as this user role holds the highest system permissions. Facilities, clinics, and doctor’s offices only need to register one time and the Atrezzo administrator for the facility will have the ability to create additional Atrezzo Online Provider Portal staff user accounts.
